Well it is exactly one week until my husband and I have a chance to experience Abraham Hicks for the first time live and needless to say we are both very excited!

If you are familiar with the work of Esther and Jerry Hicks, then no introduction is needed. If you are not, right about now, you are probably wondering who is Abraham Hicks?

Well that is a little hard to explain. Abraham is not one person, is not a “he” and is not actually able to be seen. Have I got your attention yet? Sounds spooky, I know – but if you get to know the whole story, you will understand that there is nothing spooky about it.

Abraham is a spiritual entity that Esther Hicks channels. Esther and Jerry Hicks have been involved in sharing wisdom and spiritual work for over 2 decades now. Each year they host numerous workshops, seminars and even cruises where the main goal is to empower people to take control of their own life.

So, since we enjoy the Abraham Hicks wisdom in books and audio seminars, and this event is coming to a city near us – we thought it would be great to go and experience it first hand.

How I Came Across Abraham

My first introduction to Esther Hicks and Abraham came over 2 years ago from the movie “The Secret” where Esther was one of the featured teachers. The message that came from her was beautiful – I will never forget hearing the words:

“Welcome to planet Earth – there is nothing you cannot be, do or have!”

My husband had read the Abraham material before this and even after looking into the work of some of the other teachers, found the teachings of Abraham to be most meaningful and practical – they just seemed to resonate immediately with his spirit.

Although I had come a long way by this point, when it comes to the spiritual world and considered myself an open-minded individual, I just could not wrap my head around this “channeling” thing and was quite suspicious of it at first.

Well, my reaction couldn’t have been any more common to this, than most others out there who first hear about Abraham Hicks. I mean “channeling” really – who, where, how? Those questions fluttered around in my head. Looking back now, I realize I was still stuck in the way society builds norms for us of what is acceptable and possible and what isn’t.

It wasn’t until about a year after that, when I began to hear the Abraham seminars and read the books, like The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham. And as hard as it was at first to warm up to the idea that I was looking at Esther and hearing Esther but it wasn’t Esther talking directly – the message was unsurpassable. The wisdom that was projected, the clarity and the consistency was literally “out of this world”.

I have since gotten more in tune with my inner being and today, thanks to a lot of soul searching and breaking away from society’s norms – really know, understand and most importantly “feel” that anything is possible.

I do understand how channeling works and know that indeed it is very possible. In fact all of us have experienced it to some degree in our life and are capable of much more. Do you ever notice those sudden bursts of ideas, wisdom, energy, etc? Well the next time you do – just ask and reflect to yourself what the source of that might be.

Hence today, I greatly enjoy the work of Abraham with complete ease. I know what gets most people hooked is the amazing and empowering wisdom that comes forth. This is simply because there is nothing one needs to believe or do, there are no traditions, no obligations and no expectations. There is simply the joy of being and creating and that resonates with my spirit tremendously as it reminds me of who I really am – my essence, my potential and why I am here.

The Abraham Events

Jerry and Esther spend most of the year on the road hosting workshops and other events around the US, mostly. They sometimes also visit Canada and hold cruises where they feature the Abraham material.

They were reluctant to go public with their knowledge at first, as you can imagine how most people in our society respond to spiritual manifestations. However, after talking with small groups of people and seeing the positive impact it had on their lives, they did and today people from all over the world read their books and attend their workshops as the wisdom gained is spreading like wildfire.

The teachings of Abraham popularity naturally, grew after the movie “The Secret” and continues to attract newcomers as this new age of growth and enlightenment is seeing more and more people shed their old, restrictive dogmas and look for something that not only makes sense to their spirit but has nothing more than true love and wisdom at its core.

Naturally, one must understand that like the wisdom of the Course in Miracles, A New Earth or Conversations With God – this is in no way meant to be a religion of any kind. At the core there is nothing to believe – you either do feel the depth of your spirit or you do not.

If you do not feel it, there is nothing wrong with that or you, as whether you are aware of it or not, the universe continues to expand its consciousness and energy as we speak, without the need for anyone’s belief or approval. And if you do feel it, there is nothing to label yourself with – you simply “are” and experiencing yourself as the magnificent and creative being you are – no strings attached.

The format of the workshops with Abraham, are all based on Esther quieting her mind, i.e. entering true stillness and allowing higher vibrations to resonate through her. This is when the higher frequency of the spiritual entity known as Abraham is able to flow through her. During this time there is nothing scary and or spooky about this and if you did not know any better you would simply think, Esther is presenting information, just like any other person on stage.

For the skeptics, even if Esther was not channeling, it should not matter as the wisdom that comes out of her is pure, practical and non-threatening in any way. So to me for example it would not matter one bit whether it is her talking or a spirit talking through her.

After a brief introduction from Abraham, people are chosen up to the front randomly to ask a question or questions and Abraham gives them a new perspective on why things are or aren’t working in their life. To date, millions of people have enjoyed, benefited and been empowered thanks to the efforts of Esther and Jerry Hicks. I mean think about it, if there is an easier way to live, instead of in the usual pain and stress most of us do – I think that is quite hard to pass up. Unless of course you like the stress, pain and drama – then keep on living the way you are living.

So although I feel confident that my number one source for answers is me – my own being, I enjoy from time to time hearing the Abraham workshops as the questions and life situations people bring up are very practical and allow one to expand their being and continue to be reminded of who we really are at our essence. Never mind how enjoyable they are from a comedy and humor point of view.

Thus, when a few weeks ago, completely by chance, without even looking for it, I found out that there was going to be “A Day With Abraham” in a city nearby, I thought “why not?” And heck, if I think of some “question” or life situation that I would like greater clarity on or a second take on, perhaps I will even interact with Abraham personally.
