The Winner of The Path: Afterlife DVD & Your Thoughts On Death and the Afterlife

Death and the Afterlife ThoughtsThe topics of death and the afterlife, are two of perhaps the most intriguing, yet highly uncertain topics. In many cases they are just plain suppressed from being explored in perhaps the light and attention that they deserve.

We want to know what happens, yet we are afraid.

We should feel good about them, yet society teaches us otherwise.

We have stories, beliefs, thoughts and ideas about them, yet we are never really sure which of those are true.

Or are we?

Hence, in light of the most recent contest here on EvolvingBeings.com, today I share with you, some of your thoughts on death and the afterlife. The contest winners included 5 people, whose ideas about death and the afterlife are shared here today, and of course our grand prize winner of the DVD copy of the latest documentary on this topic The Path: Afterlife.

Winner Selection Process

I want to begin by telling you how the winner(s) were selected. We had 8 contestants enter the contest. In the old fashioned way (as there is no fancy automated computer system doing this here), I wrote down the names of each of the individuals on small slips of paper. Each got folded and put into a bowl.

Since I truly believe that there are no coincidences and we truly attract all things to ourselves, for reasons which even we may not realize at the time, I asked my spirit guides for some help. Before I closed my eyes and picked the name of the winner, I asked them to help me choose the person who would benefit from this material the most at this time and/or for whom it would be the most meaningful. And then I reached into the bowl.

Now before I give you the name of the winner…. I am not holding you up in suspense am I? Anyhow, before we get to the winner, I did something else.  Without my husband knowing who I picked, I took the bowl to him and asked him to do the same. And guess what? Even though I should have trusted more, I was blown away when he picked out the same name. This was definitely a good practice and exercise for me,  in never losing faith in the greater order of things.

Therefore , I excitedly and happily announce that the name that got picked as the person who would benefit from this material the most or find it most meaningful is:

Jenny Mannion

So, a big congratulations goes out to you Jenny! And since we had such amazing responses to the question asked, I have to be honest that I could not select just 5 and wanted to include thoughts on these topics from all of our contestants.

And so thank you for entering and congratulations to: Akemi, Lance, Doris, Liara, Tess, Karl, Julie and of course Jenny!

Your Thoughts On Death and the Afterlife

The question asked was:

“What does death mean to you and/or how do you imagine the afterlife?”

Akemi from Yes-To-Me shares:

“As an Akashic Record Reader: When we die, we (our soul) leaves our physical body and goes into the astrals. We “cross over” to the other side. There will be a special kind of spirit who would guide us for this.

When we get to the other side, we review our immediate past life — what worked, what not, what we learned. Again, there are spirits who help us with this review. Then we can kick back and relax for a while.

Those who died traumatic deaths, sometimes fail to cross over and just come back on their own after they stay in the astrals for a while. And some don’t even make to the astrals and become earthbound. They need help to cross over.

Death is a transformation process and nothing to be afraid of.”

Lance from The Jungle of Life shares:

“What I’m really drawn to is our soul…within each one of us. That’s the “real you”, and the one that yearns to be discovered. By us. So – in death, we get there – to this space that is right and good for us. And that’s not death at all, really our true selves, always.

Getting there, in our earthly days – is a challenge because we have so many outside forces which keep us from that amazing discovery within. If we let them. And if that’s the case (I believe it is) – then in death, when we are brought naked, just our soul – the real us finally is let out. I think we can move toward that spot, as we evolve – although I’m not sure it’s a place we ever fully get to before death.

It’s the ultimate change – from our earthly bodies to something else.”

Doris from Greater Emmanuel shares:

“Death to me, means the ultimate realm of Enlightenment and Spirituality. You enter into death and become fully and completely awakened and illuminated as you enter into the Afterlife. All of your questions and curiosities are immediately answered.

Your life on Earth and your Worldly lessons are a contribution to further your and other’s Spiritual growth. All are teachers, and all are on equal ground in the Spiritual realm. All of the Spiritual body are One in the Afterlife, and all are enveloped in unconditional love, peace, and contentment. Entering into the Afterlife connects one to all, and to everything you’ve ever searched for while living in a human body on Earth.

And, you understand that your discontentment while on Earth was stirred by ‘the searching’ which could have never been found on the Earthly realm.”

Liara from Dream Builders shares:

“Imagine a point of consciousness where everything is expanding energy. To recognize there is a point where everyone gets what they want, there is a never-ending unfolding. If you sense this mental place, the concepts of life and death lose significance as humans understand them. You sense they are limited views of transitions you may not completely grasp. To view the self as energy, you could make an analogy with water. It changes from solid to liquid and gas (among other formless and other states). If human body is a dense, solid, you begin to sense other possibilities and state transitions.

When a person chooses to believe in life and death, that person creates a vibrational match for those conditioned beliefs. The experience you detect or register in your own limited observation, the dreams you nurture, reflect your energy vibration.

One thing you learn is you cannot create experiences for people who are not a vibrationally in alignment of what they want. If someone wants to believe in angels and an afterlife, yet vibrates in a mindset of fear, then their experience and belief systems will perpetuate fear.”

Tess from The Bold Life shares:

It is not that we lose all of our memories from here, we simply lose the useless day to day thought patterns that cloud our minds and keep the rich experiences that have shaped us and helped us grow.

I don’t think I’m afraid of death as much as I am afraid of how and when I will die. Louise Hay says we choose when we die and that sounds good to me.

On suicide I’ve read NDE’s that report those people don’t see the light and love at the end of life only the turmoil. I don’t believe that their after life is any worse than anyone else’s. After all I think those souls also come here to teach us or at least those around them how to be more compassionate and loving. Why would they be less, get less or have a different experience for doing their work?

I think our after life is the same as this life in the respect it’s all about love but then fear really won’t be a possibility ever!”

Karl from Work Happy Now shares:

“Death to me means allowing my energy to be spread out back into the world. Our contained bodies have limitations. We can only see things from our perspectives.

I think death allows us to flow back with the stream. Each of us are individual raindrops trying to nourish the earth. We don’t always get it right, but that’s part of your evolution. When we land (in death) we are soaked back into the Earth to be funneled back into the stream of life.

Afterlife to me is nothing I can imagine. I know it’s there, but I hate to guess. I’m just looking forward to whatever comes and finding the best ways to enjoy it.”

Julie from Random Meanderings shares:

“I’ve come to believe that there is no death; there is simply a different form (or not) the Soul takes, that life is everywhere, in many forms, and that communication exists on a multitude of levels. To be fearful of losing one form of life prevents us from seeing so much more.

When my father committed suicide, I felt that he simply was ready to “go Home.” It was years later, after seeing all the changes in my family, that I came to believe his life and passing were part of a soul contract with my mother and, to a lesser degree, perhaps with us, his children. I’ve seen so many lessons the rest of us have experienced simply because of his passing!

I’m not at all fearful of passing on.”

Jenny from Heal Pain Naturally shares:

“Death has totally changed its meaning to me in the last few months. I have been delving into Michael Newton’s work and wow has it opened me up to a new way of looking at life. After studying Jill Bolte Taylor and many people that have died and come back I felt there was MUCH more than we are told and death is no where near the END.

I believe death is just an ending of this chapter and that we have many…. I feel we do return to a place that is beautiful to assess the last journey with our soul group and guides, and that we choose carefully our next life to be lived and lessons to learn.”

Conclusion

And so a big thank you again for all who participated and took time out to share their thoughts here, on death and the afterlife.

I am also getting ready to share some more new material with you very soon and will be featuring it in a new giveaway contest, in the next few weeks to come. Till then, stay tuned and as always I look forward to any of your questions, comments or feedback.

  2. Bern says:

    Hi Evita,

I believe we always live in our minds whether in the perceived physical body or not. The walls and contractions we create based on our fears and our conditioning set up the experiences that we have here on earth and in the astral and in our dreams. We eneregetically and magnetically attract those people and situations either on earth or on the other side to help find and recombine a greater sense of ourselves until we fully reunite with the Source. Therefore, there is no death if one is not attached to one’s body. Believe that you are Spirit and eternal, and one will be able to transcend the invention of death.

Another way of looking at the word death is to see it as that part of your self that is contracted and seperated from others and their environment. From this point of view, most of us are more dead on earth than we are on the other side due to our heavy minds and attachments. Fear ultimately causes our sense of seperation. But as we transcend our fears we feel more alive. As we begin to feel connected to everything we encounter, we are overflowing with life and that feeling spreads to all those that surround us and that are the objects of our attention. Then we begin to look more closely at that which still blocks us from experiencing true love, where we want to return life to the parts of us that are dead or dieing. This can be also looked at as a ressurection while still being earthbound. Death then opens up back to life.

  3. Hi Evita,

Thank you!!!! I am very excited to see this movie. As I mentioned this is an area I have been looking at a lot in the last few months so of course it coincides perfectly. :-)

The comments were wonderful Evita – thank you for sharing this and bringing up this conversation.

Thanks Lance :-) I was very happy to read your comments on here. :-) SO much to wonder, explore and learn about! The journey to get to know our true soul is a beautiful one and one that keeps blowing me away and opening my mind the deeper I explore. ;-)

    Lots of love, thanks again!
    Jenny

  4. Those were some wonderful responses. I’m amazed by the thought put behind each one. Most of us have a healthy curiosity for this topic. It’s nice to read about what other people feel.

  5. Evita says:

@ LANCE – Hi Lance, yes it was so much fun I have to say to “organize” this little giveaway and have a chance also not only to read what others have to say, but share it also with others. I look forward to more things like this!

@ BERN – Hi Bernie, oh my goodness you are back! And it is so good to hear from you :)

As for your addition, I have to admit I resonate very closely if not identically with the views you have expressed. I would have loved to feature your thoughts, but I am so glad that at least they are here in the comments section!

You provided an excellent addition here – thank you so much for that!

@ JENNY – As I described in the post, the selection process had me surprised too, although again, things like this should not be surprising. It is after all how the Universe works.

And so I am thrilled to get this out to you. May it be a continued source of inspiration and expansion, as you continue your personal evolving journey.

@ KARL – I totally agree Karl. I think it is excellent for our growth to consider openly the thoughts and viewpoints of others – especially without judging. That alone is an awesome exercise.

  6. Congratulations to the winner, and I enjoyed reading the different perspectives on death and the afterlife. I read the original post, but for some reason stopped myself from commenting. I don’t know if I felt blocked, or resistant to the idea of death (which I don’t think I do) or what, but even that experience was eye-opening. It’s because of you that I was able to explore my reaction to death in greater detail. Thank you!

  7. Evita says:

@ MEGAN – Hi Megan! Great to hear that you enjoyed the thoughts of those above.

I think that is an interesting observation you made indeed. Sometimes when we feel that blockage, I think it is important to look deeper and see what message may lay there for us.

So I am thrilled to hear that you want to explore this in a greater scope for yourself. You know what I have come to know about death in these last few years, is that it is one of the most exciting areas to explore – seriously! I have read a few books on it, watched this film and it just makes me more and more excited to keep combining life and death as almost one, one being just a transition of the other.

  8. Bern says:

Another way that I look at death is when we hold onto something that we received through inspiration. The energy modifies us if enter its essence, however, if we capture it and don’t process it, a block is created within us. We swell up inside. An aspect of us and are body dies because we are that much more seperated again from the source or from light through the block. By processing and letting go of what we receive, we can live again and channel new inspiration. It is truly how we feel alive.

  9. Evita says:

@ BERN – Excellent addition Bernie – thank you so much for that!

I am personally fascinated by what you describe here, as I do have a lot of theories of my own about what the state of “separation” leads us to.

So yes, process and let go, instead of holding on and even from an ego perspective “identifying” with that aspect is definitely important, if one should seek this sort of “freedom” when it comes to the death, afterlife and so much more!

  10. Bern says:

I like this topic, so here I am again Evita.

After physical death, it can be much the same as during physical life.

In physical life we walk around, and if we sense something we resonate with, we take a bite out of it, Like snow white taking a bite out of the apple and soon gets put to sleep and swallowed by a dream. But only true love can wake her. She is then kissed or touched by the essence of love, by someone or something that lives unconditionally without judgement. So in life, like in the Big Apple, there are infinite amounts of things to chew on.

Now according to the Tibetan Book of the Dead, after death one has to face the attachments that they have accumulated over lifetimes. They are instructed to ignore the illusions in prayers offered to them at the time of death, because when the afterlife attachments are bitten into, they become trapped in that dream realm where they will either serve the dream or will actively study to dissolve the issue.

If one can direct one’s consiousness beyond the illusions and tests in the life review, they can fully ascend to that which resonates in the higher vibrational realms. With a collected and open mind, then one can even choose to reincarnate with little or no karma to a position of their choosing. They are flexible to act out any role. For those who chose the attachments, they will reincarnate to deal with these attachments. It is their karma. They can only then fill a limited frequency range on earth. That is, the available roles choose them.

  11. Doris Edwards says:

My sincerest apologies for the delay in response everybody. My son just got married on Saturday, so there wasn’t any time for emails etc.
I appreciate everyone’s ideas about life after death, and collectively I don’t believe any one of us is too far off. Instinctively, “we remember” the knowledge we had before we arrived on this Earthly realm. :)

    Congratulations Jenny! :)
