This is the third and final part of the 3 part series of highlights from the Choice Point 2012 Conference that took place in Boston, Massachusetts on Saturday October 24, 2009.
If you missed the introduction, where I gave a short overview of the nature of this conference and introduced its three speakers, you can find it here – “Choice Point 2012.”
The three speakers at this event were Gregg Braden, Bruce Lipton and Alberto Villoldo. Part 1 featured Gregg Braden’s presentation. Part 2 featured Bruce Lipton’s presentation.
In this part, I will share with you what the third speaker – Alberto Villoldo presented. Alberto is a medical anthropologist by training and his presentation brought in the Native perspective to the changes that are happening on the planet and how ancient cultures are preparing for 2012.
Alberto Villoldo
Alberto Villoldo was the third and last speaker of the day, and as he stepped onto the stage, the energy changed to one of a beautiful and serene calm. I don’t know about the rest of the crowd, but what I picked up from his energy was such a rare stillness, which one does not see in many people.
Alberto began by telling us a little about himself to help us understand his background where 2012 is concerned. He is originally from Cuba, and as he grew up and studied he ended up in the US. By his mid-twenties he was the youngest clinical professor at San Francisco State University. He knew that in our world we can create psychosomatic disease, so in his lab he wanted to see if they could also create psychosomatic health. He was thus directing his own laboratory, the Biological Self-Regulation Lab. He realized however, that this was not serving him, he needed to be in the “field” so he gave up the lab and went into the jungles. There he spent over 25 years with various shamans.
In this way Alberto has studied the healing practice of many indigenous people. For the shaman Alberto stated, the changes on the Earth are not about focusing on the “prophecy“, but on the “process-y“. In other words it is about the processes we as humans will undertake during the times of change. They believe that opportunity is always accompanied by crisis. Their science is of participation, not observation. Hence, their traditions are based on animism – the idea that everything is alive. (For greater explanation of this, see Bruce Lipton’s talk.)
Alberto then went on to explain that we have 4 brains that we are born with – well 4 sub-brains that is.
1. Reptilian Brain
The purpose of this is to mate, reproduce and eat. This brain controls all autonomic functions, such as our breathing and is geared for self-preservation.
2. Mammalian Brain
The purpose of this is feelings, emotions and to take care of young. There is also the element of fear, feeding, fighting and fornication. Harnessing the power of this brain allows us to transcend from fear to intimacy, from violence to peace and from scarcity to abundance.
3. Neo Cortex Brain
This envelops the previous two brains. This allows us to step beyond mind into spirit and beyond morals into ethics. Here comes alive an appreciation for things like the arts and music, etc. The Natives predict that the neo cortex will awaken now en masse.
4. Pre-frontal Lobe Brain
This is referred to as the “God brain” that allows us to step out of ordinary reality, to communicate with spirit and to influence the past. This is the brain of who we are becoming – Homo luminous – the new human. (More on this later)
Alberto than shared with the audience several prophecies from various indigenous cultures. One prophecy is known as the “13 Heavens of increased choice and 7 Hells of increased gloom.” This is based on the prophecy of the “Returning of the Lord of the Dawn“, which signals a period of great change and then a golden millennium for humanity. Ultimately these prophecies foretell that changes on the Earth are happening and happening so fast, that unless we have a major increase of consciousness or awakening, it will be very difficult to deal with them.
Alberto here also mentioned our obsession with time and how as a society we are addicted to time. We only know linear time that is based on cause and effect. We see the future always ahead and think we are the result of our past.
There is however another time – cyclical time. This is what many indigenous people follow in that there is no more waiting. They step outside of time and in this sense achieve a certain mastery of time. It also allows them to understand, that without linear time, everything is going on simultaneously.
Another prophecy Alberto talked about was the idea of “Creation and Space“. Our general story of creation is based on space - i.e. land ownership. The Native creation story is based on time. Their belief is that we don’t own the land, it owns us – but they are free of time. We in the West world believe that we own the land, and yet we are at the mercy of time. Likewise, in the western cultures, the calendars are largely “religious-based” while the calendars of indigenous people are “astronomically-based”. Thus, for the Native people 2012 means the freedom from the oppression of time for humanity.
Secondly, in our story of creation we have completely eliminated the feminine. We were taught that the Earth is cursed because of a woman. This made us develop a hostile relationship with the Earth, and how we depicted women. Here Alberto also noted that even at the famous Council of Trent in the 16th century, religious leaders debated whether women, Natives and animals actually had souls. Luckily for women, it was decided that they do. So as far as the indigenous people see it, this time of the changes of 2012 is when we are returning to the “Mother” again. We need to bring back the divine feminine to balance the masculine and feminine.
Alberto than went on to describe the luminous energy field (LEF). This is an information field all around us. It directs how you will live, heal, age, die, etc. The way we can see it is that the LEF is the software, and the DNA is the hardware.
We know today, even as Bruce Lipton mentioned that 95% of our DNA is considered “junk” and only 5% codes for proteins. Of course this is only according to science, as they cannot figure out what the role of the other 95% is. However, nothing in nature is junk. The 95% is a pool of genetic possibilities.
This is where Alberto began a fascinating discussion on the new human that is being born on our planet right now. This is, Homo luminous. Now before I go any further, for any of you reading this, thinking this is too far out there, do not forget that there were other “human” species before the current Homo sapiens, like Homo erectus and many more. (Check out the history of human evolution) This is influenced by the process of “conscious selection” today – as opposed to past ideas of the Darwinian “natural selection“.
Here Alberto also threw in some really interesting data. He stated that, according to science humans first appeared on the Earth 1.5 million years ago. According to the bible, 6,000 years ago. And according to the Mayans in 2012. What, 2012?!?! Yes, and here is why.
The indigenous people believe that the humans that have lived on this Earth up to now have been only a “prototype” – that this new human that is about to come is the “real” human from the cosmic womb.
If you recall Gregg Braden’s presentation, he explained how at the center of the Universe there is a great source of energy. The Natives called this center of the Universe – Xibalba. There was some fear associated with this place, in that it threatened “to swallow the sun”. Again today, we know this scientifically as a black hole. They also believed that this is where new codes for new humans come from as this is the place from which divine, transformational knowledge is being transmitted. Specifically the codes come from the solar flares that are influenced by this energy. To them it is no coincidence that we are in the highest cycle of solar flare activity.
Another aspect of all the indigenous prophecies that Alberto learned about was “The Feminine Return“. He stated that the mythology of the feminine lasted 35,000 years, where as the masculine mythology which has replaced it, is only 6,000 years old. No surprise therefore that we live in a very masculine centered society. However, no surprise either that what we are seeing is the crumbling during this time of change, of a lot of the masculine energy – take the economy for example, which is greed driven.
We are thus returning to a balance where we are starting to realize that the Earth is not here for our pleasure to do with it what we please, but rather we are its caretakers. In this way, the return of the “goddess” signifies an intimate relationship with nature and a new way of being with each other.
Alberto than shared some ways that we can expect some of these changes to look like. The new economy for example will move from globalization to localization. You can imagine this will be difficult for corporate giants who cannot thrive at this new level. Another change is an expansion of the area of cybernetics, where we come to realize that WE guide our own destiny.
Finally and a biggie is the growth of the area of energy medicine. This lived out on all levels stems from the idea that we dream our world into being. If enough people on the planet do this, we influence this good energy for all others on the planet, who perhaps are unable to do so, due to lack of awareness to do this themselves. The foundations of energy medicine, which is what Alberto teaches are the following:
Level of BODY – is informed and enveloped by the MIND – then enveloped by the SOUL – which is all enveloped by the SPIRIT
1 SPIRIT SOURCE = MANY INDIVIDUAL SOULS
Thus, with this in mind:
The language of the SPIRIT = ENERGY
The language of the SOUL = ARTISTIC (music, poetry, etc.)
The language of the MIND = WORDS
The language of the BODY = CHEMICAL
With the changes upon us, we need to start processing things at the level of the soul and not bring the mind and body into it. To do this consider visualizations over affirmations – they are much more powerful. Visualizations are at the level of the soul, where as affirmations are at the level of the mind.

Alberto’s closing words and advice for the coming changes were that the main idea for the prophecy of 2012 is to break free of all confinements and enter the world of creators. His talk was finished with a soul retrieval journey he invited the entire audience to do. It was a very neat experience.
Conclusion
So that is it – the three amazing speakers that made up one phenomenal event – Choice Point 2012.
After Alberto’s talk there was a “question & answer” panel with the three speakers. It was really entertaining more than anything else, as Gregg explained that they will act as if they are “casually talking together in one of their living rooms” to share how they really feel about the topic of 2012 and spark questions from the audience based on that.
The main and biggest question of course was “what should we do about all this on a practical level?” To this the three speakers exclaimed that it is not so much about “doing” anything in particular like preparing physically, but rather about preparing spiritually. Alberto for example explained that he intends to be right in the center of it all to help guide people through the changes, not running away anywhere to some remote location. Those of us who are aware, who are more conscious can help guide others, as there will be a lot of fear on the planet. Ultimately, we should again focus on ourselves and live from the heart if nothing else.
I hope these 3 parts helped you understand or get a better idea of what all this talk about the changes on the Earth and 2012 is all about. The way I see it, and I repeat again for anyone who may have missed it, 2012 is not the end of the world. It may of course “feel” like that for some people on a personal level, who have become greatly attached to and only see the physical world. I personally see it like all of us see December 31st each year. We know that one year is ending and a new one is beginning. We know that there will be a January 1st – it simply means a something “new”. Likewise, this is the start of a new era for humanity. And whatever changes may come, how we will respond as humans will dictate not the fate of the Earth, but the fate of our human civilization.

I really wish I could have been there at the conference, hearing these speakers firsthand. Although I have to say, NO ONE summarizes events like you do! Thank you for that.
I’m excited about what’s to come. Maybe it’s because five years ago a couple people told me I was a lightworker, of sorts, and was here with the mission of spreading joy and love to as many people as possible. Honestly, that was big news to me! I felt overwhelmed at first, and thought it was a burden. But the more I read about what’s happening in our world today, the more sense it makes to me. Those who are aligned with love and willing to forgo the material — even if it’s just in believing it’s fluid and not fixed — will evolve naturally with this new energy-era we’re a part of. Whenever I hear talks about oneness, new communities where people cooperate and live to help each other, etc. my heart gets excited and my mind follows.
Love, love and more love: that’s how I see the future and that’s how I’m trying to prepare myself.
@ MEGAN – Wow Megan my heart literally leaped when I read your comment. I have no doubt in anything you said, because that is truly why many of us are here at this time – to help others transition. Go with that feeling within you, for that is your higher being – your true essence talking. It may seem daunting at first thinking of helping the “world”, but as I have found, I am sure you too see that it is about the little things we do everyday in our own personal lives that make the biggest difference. (Funny I just read about the “little things” from Lance on his site.)
I have now learned to decipher pretty accurately when my inner being resonates with something that is being said or done. When we decided to incarnate at this time, we made sure we would have many “clues” or sign posts along the way to let us know we are heading in the “right” direction or along the path that we came here to live out. We only have to increase our consciousness to be aware of those sign posts – and the rest…. we will know what to do.
So yes, love and more love – what an amazing way to prepare indeed!

Thank you again for sharing with us what you learned at that conference. I loved the concept of homo luminous. How beautiful a term. We are creatures of light and love so it makes total sense that as we grow, we become more rooted in our inherent power as opposed to be consumed with the illusions of being trapped or not powerful.
As Megan mentioned, many people are lightworkers and it is interesting to see how people who are on a spiritual path are growing more into the light while those who are not are becoming more disillusioned.
It will be cool to see how soceity evolves as we get closer to 2012.
In the mid nineties I was fed up with society and their ways and had declared my self independent of the human species. I called my self Homo Individulisticus. :) Since then I have heard of the Homo luminous classification. For a while I have had a sense that there is a divergence in species going on. With new habitats comes new variations within the genus, and with new dimensions to explore, there will probably be even more species emerging and exploring the winds of spirit. So perhaps the species sapiens is seeing its last days, depending on whether the conditions for their self expression continues on.
Now there is a lot of literature on the internet that has been channeled by many differing people and from different sources. According to the new mythology or new reality, there are more than two strands of DNA, since the others are unseen because they are vibrating in higher dimensional planes. When all of these strands of DNA are activated, one begins approaching their full potential. I bring this up because they mention that only a small percentage percent of the population on earth needs to be resonating higher to change the collective dream since their combined energy is strong enough to pull humanity into a new dream. This is where one hears about the spiritual conspiracy since the deck is being stacked in favour of what everyone is calling ascension. These individuals are called star children, star seeds, indigo, crystal, and rainbow children (etc.). What I see them all having in common is that they are not attached to the old paradigm. I believe this also includes ADD children. They all have their own dreams that they are manifesting without believing in outside dreams. Their attention and energy doesn’t go towards maintaining old loops and cycles. Therefore, the old cycles are dissolving or phasing out. This new generation is interested in creating their own worlds. Therefore this new collective energy is getting stronger and is overlapping in the creation of a platform or a new foundation that will make up the birth of the New Age.

For me, it basically summarizes what I’ve been sensing — and writing as Ascension and New World. Yep, the new human is coming. I suspect if some of us may be changing to new humans as well, because the change is stemming out from the spiritual awareness to physicality, not the other way around.
Destruction precedes creation. For instance, I think not only will our economy be more local based, we may even have to give up monetary system. Ha, scary for many people, I guess. A lot of common sense will no longer work.
It’s an exciting time to be around!

You know for me, I have heard faintly of Homo luminous here and there, but until I heard it here by Alberto, it didn’t really hit me. I didn’t even consider seriously a whole new species (ehm, here is a chance for me to clean out even more old conditioning). Anyway, now it seems so realistic to me too, and normal, like this is the only natural progression of events that makes sense.
I too have heard of the “extra” DNA from several channeled messages and thought it was pretty neat. It definitely expanded my mind as to how little we really know!
Anyhow – thanks for that beautiful write up – I love the idea that we are creating new and beautiful worlds and am so enjoying this wonderful change!

Yes, this is why no matter what happens, it is opening up a door for us to create a better world. (I mean I know we cannot make it worse than it is for many today – we have learned enough to know better)
And yes, totally, I have heard from several sources now that the way we exchange and use money – that whole idea is very likely to change as for the most part, it is not serving humanity. We need a new system, this one has too much negative baggage attached I think.

What would or who would you recommend for visualization? Books, DVDs CDs etc. I’m such an affirmation type of gal. I need help on the other or should I say practice!
I was at the ACIM group in Scottsdale last night and someone brought up Bruce Lipton and how much what he says is alligned with ACIM. Then I remembered my comment and your post on Bruce.
As for the changes of 2012 and feminine energy Bring It On! The only way from here is up. Can’t solve today’s issues on the same level they were created right? And as far as Alberto saying he’ll be helping others…I ask how is he going to do that? I need help;)

I am also fascinated by this material because you present it in such a positive light and that is illuminating as my world has been presented with such a dark, distructive conceptualization of 2012. This is encouraging to me.
I also wonder if I too might be infused with something new…of course that would be a wonder full way to look at being born with cancer…and then I wonder about my child with a cleft palate and a lesion in the brain – hyper activity and what will be her outcomes – futures…The French and English have found the missing protein in the DNA now just need to learn to replace it and no more cleft palates…Voila’
I have had two treatments with an amazing energy healer and have been studying Carolyn Myss for a number of years…what a difference…but my mind still fights accepting this and yet today I knocked another 5 minutes off my walking time – that is 10 minutes off since my last treatment last week….I am so working on believing the weight is just going to melt away, but then wonder if I can believe enough?

Great question about the visualization. To tell you the truth, I am not sure who to recommend as all the teachers I know really focus on “talking”. I know the movies like “the Secret” and “What the Bleep Do we Know?” mention the power of visualizations.
The way I approach it, and perhaps this is enough to help you, is take a moment, formal or informal and do what we used to do when we were children…daydream. Except in these daydreams visualize your thoughts and ideas for or about a particular thing. Let’s say that you want to win something. Visualize yourself getting the phone call telling you you’ve won, visualize what you would be wearing to pick up your prize, visualize how it feels to have the thing/item in your hand, etc….etc…
I am sure someone out there has a technique for visualizations, but I really don’t think we need much to them… this is natural for us. So just focus some time on your visualization each day, several times a day, a week and most importantly know there are no rules to this, as long as you FEEL GOOD doing it. Just visualize the good moments attached to this outcome and have fun with it!
LOL – Tess you are too cute… you say you need help. Tess, I would beg to differ, you are already doing what Alberto is too, you are helping people wake up. And that is all he is going to be doing, guiding them through different thinking processes of how to approach situations.
Like you said, we will get nowhere with the old thinking paradigms, we need a shift in our thinking and it is people like him, you and me and so many others, that are already doing that and will continue as we go on with these changes.

You know what Patricia – I really don’t see this change or anything else in our world today any other way. There is always an opportunity to rise up and make something better in every situation – I truly believe that.
We always get a choice of how we look at things. And this is just another case scenario. Some will see 2012 as the end, and others as the beginning. Some will revolve this time in drama and negativity and others see it as nothing more than a time of beautiful light and love sweeping across the Earth.
You know I know some people may not see it this way, or perhaps not want to see it this way, but I believe every physical “difference” that some of us have has a special role to play in our lives and in the lives of others. Yes, it may be challenging to have, given our society, but do not let society dictate for you or for anyone else Patricia what is normal and what isn’t.
We still have such a limited view of this reality, the human body and life – and that is another thing that I believe this change will be about – expanding our view to see the perfection in all that is, was and will be on this Earth and amongst all of us.
I have heard of Carolyn Myss, and her work is very much praised, but I haven’t had a chance to read any of her material yet… looking forward to it as I know she presents a whole new look on healing too. So I am glad to hear your energy healing is helping – that is the way of the future where health is concerned I believe.

I am so happy to have found you! I have followed Gregg and Alberto for years and just recently Bruce Lipton’s work has been hopping off shelves, out of computer screens, etc. and, here he is again. This is so exciting to have them all in one place working/playing together. I do think we can choose to be channels for the light (which usually means letting go of or transforming some darkness within). Something else I have noticed recently is an ability? to find what I need shortly after I think about it. Nothing spectacular so far, just little practical things– sometimes in free giveaway piles—-but it is just what I was thinking about. This is something new for me and I am not trying to make it happen :) Maybe this is how some needs will be met in the coming days. I think fear will be the thing we will all need to stay away from (or perhaps plough through). Hearing all the positive things is very helpful for keeping us out of fear!

So yes, courage and hope, and most importantly an inner peace and happiness are I think key for each of us to live out the best life ever. Fear may try to stop us, or pull us back, but step by step, as we expand our conscious awareness and allow ourselves to move forward, embracing change, we can truly do and be anything.
