To learn more about the 5 koshas see Avadhuta Gita,Viveka-Cudamani of Sri Sankaracarya and the internet.
From mid 1960 to mid 1970 I was a monk(yoga vedanta)is the class.
To remove the 5 koshas I used the neti-neti meditation. I have used this meditation for 42 years and had the vision of Brahman twice. I have seen Brahman twice in 42 years of meditation, once inside sitting in meditation and once outside meditation. The path is steep and very difficult.
sincerely

This is a very insightful post. It reminds us that different perspectives exist about yoga and percieved energy levels. As people learn to detach from their conditioning, they come to recognize different levels of awareness and growth are simutaneous, silent and ever-expanding. Thank you for sharing this!

This is an interesting concept and also the first time that I am hearing about the Koshas. From the first read, it seems similar to the Chinese 5 concept of the Ying and Yang and the 5 elements of 'Metal', 'Wood', 'Water', 'Fire', and 'Earth'. Although I do not know much of the Chinese's concept of the 5 elements, from my previous working experience, I do know that each element is connected to a certain part of our bodies' parts or organs.

Any imbalance will result in illnesses in the particular organs that is lacking in the element. The only different which I can see if probably the Koshas include even the spiritual well-being of one. Thus in a way, I think the 5 elements concept work in compliment to the Koshas and in harmony.

An unexplainable phenomenon is happening with all of us which lead us to only one simple conclusion that we dont know. We dont know not because we know not we dont know because we can not. Getting in terms with that conclusion is the end of experiencing human perception and start being which brings back perception in human and it is then explained with different labels and terminologies. All I can say for certainty is that I dont know wheater I as a human even exist or not?

Beautifully done !

I'm an admirer of C. G. Jung and must contemplate the interweavings of the Koshas with his "Psychological Layers".
