Gilbert Ross- Thank you
I was always so amazed when my childhood ideas turned out not to be true!
But then disillusionment was the big lesson of maturing? Wasn't it?

Thank you everyone for adding such wonderful comments here on Gilbert's article.

Gilbert - thank you once again for sharing your valuable wisdom and knowledge, and writing such a fantastic and thought provoking article for Evolving Beings.

I personally feel very strongly about opening ourselves up to new ideas, as I see in my personal life, how many of the old paradigms are just not serving us any longer. There is a whole other world out there, a whole other way to see things, approach things and solve things.

This is indeed an amazing time for all of us to connect in the Universal web of ideas, and through this not only realize that we are all one, but acknowledge just how connected we really are to each other and everything in this world.

Thank you again Gilbert!

Hey Patricia,

Thanks for sharing with us your lovely and inspiring childhood's imagination on ideas. It's so pretty cool and original...I think it would make a nice artistic representation of ideas in some fantasy story : )

Good point Kaushik. It's more about letting go (fear and life-denying beliefs) than adding something you do not have. We already have all we need inside of us. All we need is to redirect our attention inwards, to our hearts as Wilma mentioned above.

Very well put together ideas, easy to understand and focus on. I am pulling them into me...
As a child I thought ideas were like floating dust moats in the light and they would come into our head by inhaling or into our ears by hearing...and sometimes they would synchronize in a moment and then be something I could work with or write about or enjoy...or resolve. Sleeping on an idea was the best way to find a rightful use of it...

I love the ideas about conscious participation and agents of change. What trips us up is that many of us feel change requires courage or intellect or some special attribute, when really all it requires is a letting go of fear.

Thanks!

Hi Wilma,

yes you are right. Our established institutions and power structures were never the ideal role models for social behavior. We were brought up with distorted models of reality such as scarcity (as against abundance of life),seperateness (as against interdependence),competition( as against cohesion and cooperation), determinism and fatalism (as against free will and the power to change the future) and other negative traits such as greed, irresponsibility towards our environment, etc.

You are also right to point out that the what the shift really means is a shift from outward to inward. We always confirm our identity by some external point of reference. The opposite must be achieved - that of confirming and building our outward reality by some inner point of reference. As you said, we start accessing our hearts again just like older cultures which were more connected to nature, the universe and life.
