Water – Life Through the Power of Thought and Intention

Water droplet on a paddleWater – it is all around us and inside of us. It is with us every moment of our lives.

We drink it each day. We wash ourselves with it each day. We play in it sometimes. However, rarely do any of us stop, consider and appreciate the magnificence of this substance.

Upon viewing the most recent movie that I saw, I was so moved, inspired and compelled to share what I learned with you.

That movie was called “Water“. It is one of the latest and highly acclaimed documentaries to have come out. It opens our minds to a whole new way of seeing and understanding water.

“Water is the driving force of all nature.”- Leonardo da Vinci

With this in mind, instead of doing a movie review – as there is not much to say besides that the movie is absolutely fantastic! I will share with you the latest research that has been done on water and the stunning results which we are just now beginning to comprehend.

Water Movie Background

Water The Great MysteryWater was produced by Saida Medvedeva of Intention Media and released in 2008. It is currently being remastered for a re-release in January 2010. I actually had a chance to see it just before they removed the old version from the net. (There have been many movies over the past few years called water, so it is not to be confused with certain Hollywood movies called “Water”)

This is a documentary about how human intentions not only change the structure of water, but how our thoughts can alter our environment.

It features various international scientists, including the very famous water researcher Dr. Masaru Emoto.

The movie shows some stunning imagery of water in its various states, as well as in nature. It is narrated by Lex Lang.

The movie has won numerous international awards to date.

Here is a 2 minute trailer:

Water Has Memory

When a chemist studies water, they know one thing for sure today – do not expect it to act according to the properties of other substances. One of the first fascinating things that captivated scientists about water are those unique properties of it. Water expands when cooled – all other substances on Earth do the opposite – they contract when cooled. This is just one example of how water is so unique as a chemical substance, and so beyond us.

However, nothing is perhaps more mind bending as a characteristic of water whether we are speaking chemically or physically than this – water has memory.

As beings of expanding consciousness, try to process that for a moment – water actually has a memory. It has now been proven that water makes an imprint of everything that occurs around it. Imagine that for another moment more. Consider the ramifications of that. Where has the water that you drink come from? What did it go through? What has it seen?

As water flows, it acquires new properties, however not like you may think. Chemically yes it is H2O – its chemical properties remain unchanged – what changes is the structure of the water.

Looking back now at every lesson in chemistry I ever gave about water, I cannot help to feel a little sad, like I gave water a huge disservice. From an early age we learn and we teach that water is just H2O. Well, nothing can be further from the truth. Yes, water is H20, but how those molecules of H20 structure themselves makes all the difference in the world, where the quality and properties of water are concerned. The molecular structure is the alphabet of water.

We know today that the structure of water reacts to any irritation. Water is then capable of recording and storing information. If this isn’t blowing your mind yet, about what this means for us as both physical and spiritual beings, I don’t know what will.

Thus, what we are ultimately getting at is that there is a huge difference, on many levels, between structured and unstructured water. Now, how we change that structure is where things get even more interesting.

The Power of Emotions

Water falling over the rocksIf you are aware of yourself as a spiritual being, then you also know about the power of emotions. Emotions are not only the language of our soul, they are the most powerful form of energy. You attract into your life the things you do, based on your emotions. This flows into the fact, that emotions thus have the power to change molecules – water is one of them.

According to Dr. Masaru Emoto, love increases water’s energy levels and aggression decreases them. This has been observed in various experiments, both in the lab and in nature. Crops grown with structured water need 20% less water and germinate faster and grow better, than crops on regular water.

So how does all this impact us?

In the past, human civilizations only existed around natural sources of water. Today, we have brought water to us through various pipes and pumps. We all know that water is cleaned best by nature itself, not by any man-made filter. Well in this cleansing, water also restructures itself. Phase transition (from solid to liquid, etc.) is water’s way of natural cleansing, through which it preserves its basic structure for life.

In our modern world, water travels through many pipes to get to us, and in some cases through a completely closed loop system, where it never gets to interact with the natural environment. Through this travel, the natural structure of water breaks down. Water like this, has been shown to actually steal energy from people or plants using it.

Think about it. When your water comes to you in your tap, it has traveled through many, various dark pipes. It has come from a treatment facility. Most people still have a hard time believing that the water in their toilet, is the same water in their tap, or even worse that the water from a toilet could next be in some one’s tap.

So as water takes on this journey, it takes in everything. Some people are aware of all the pharmaceuticals in the water, chemicals or heavy metals, but what research is now showing is that water takes on so much more than that. What about the water that traveled through homes of extreme violence or abuse? What about the water that traveled through the factory farms?

The less time water has a chance to cleanse itself in nature, and the more tightly a system uses a closed loop system, the more the quality of the water drops. Water remembers the trauma, chemicals, hatred and stress. It is almost “dead” by the time it enters your body.

Now I know in our society we have been very much conditioned to value “living things” (though some people don’t even do that), and not give inanimate objects like rocks, water or the air much attention, so it may sound odd to some of you to think of water as dead.

So what does all this really mean to us?

Water on pebblesHow a person approaches water, actually makes  a big difference to the quality of water. A person can bless water or completely ignore it. Dr. Emoto did studies on water that was blessed, cursed and ignored and the findings were incredible!

When we apply the power of our intention or emotion upon water, we actually change its structure. This can explain a lot of things like the idea of “holy water” in religions or even one of the famous Bible stories if you are familiar with where Jesus changes water into wine or walks on water. Do not underestimate the power of your intention.

“Nothing shall be impossible, to he who believes.”

from “Water” the movie, 2008

The Impact of Water on You

The average person takes in about 2.5 liters of water each day through various sources. So you can bet that water plays a huge impact on your life and you.

Nowhere in the world is water the same, and the water structure in each person’s body is actually connected to the original place where they were born.

One of the tests that scientists carried out to prove some of these ideas, was to test some water in a part of Venezuela that is literally untouched by man. The water there is called “virgin water“. Scientists knew at this point that the greater the energy of something, the greater it shines. Well, upon testing this “virgin water” it was found that it was not just 2 or 3 times more energetic than our regular tap water – it was 40, 000 times more active!

So the first question to ask yourself is, what kind of water are you drinking each day?

Bottled water is considered completely dead water. Not only that, most of it has been proven by various agencies to be inferior to regular tap water. Hence it is a big waste of money, not to mention ecological disaster.

Tap water had to travel to you through so much trauma, not to mention the chemical quality of it is far from desirable. More and more people today are installing high quality filters in their homes to reduce the chemical load in the water. But this does nothing for the spiritual or energetic quality of water. Others are getting more and more resourceful by getting their drinking water from the original source – nature. You can look at findaspring.com to locate a spring near you if you live anywhere in North America.

Although most of us cannot tell the difference between tap and spring water (real spring), studies with animals show a dog for example will always drink water from a bowl of spring water, not tap if given the choice. One can see how much more in tune to the natural energy they are through an experiment like this.

Ultimately, no matter where your water comes from, but especially if it is not straight from nature, pause for a moment, look at it and bless it. That alone may make more of a difference than you can ever imagine.

The next question to ask yourself is, what is your relationship with water?

Do you see it for the amazing life force that it is, or merely as a substance that keeps you alive. Are you grateful for it? Do you bless it?  Do you show it love?

Do you realize that water has a direct effect on your brain? According to Dr. Emoto, when we assimilate water of our society, it can change our behavior. A few experiments have been conducted in various parts of the world as to crime outbreaks, etc. The correlation is astounding. The most crimes are committed where people curse most often.

A prayer pronounced with love changes the structure of water. Music changes the structure of water – beautiful music like classical, increases its energy; where as aggressive like heavy rock, decreases its energy. Thoughts, emotions, images - all can change the structure of water, in one direction or another.

The Power of Intention and Your Thoughts

Imagine what all this means for you inside. After all, you are over 70% water. It is not only the structure of the water that can change before it comes in, but it changes within you as well.

Imagine what our behavior – our thoughts and words do to each other. As one of Dr. Emoto’s experiments proved, aside from aggressive behavior, the other worst case scenario is indifference. How do you treat those around you? How do you treat your children? How many times do you ignore the little ones, when they seek your attention the most?

A person with negative thoughts pollutes his own water and gives their body a negative charge, or the water of another. This even works over distance as proven in several experiments.

Water WaveUltimately your thoughts, your intentions have the power to do things that you may not even be aware of yet. This does not mean that these things are not happening.

Therefore, consider giving the water in your life a little extra conscious attention – whether it be a prayer, a thought or emotion. Prayer – no matter what form it takes – only requires faith to work and with this intention, it is capable of changing the structure of water – and you.

And if you think that all the results that the scientists got, or any people all around the world get from prayer is just a “coincidence” – consider this thought:

“Coincidence – is a way people use to escape any responsibility.”

The Future of Water

Many of us know today, as do scientists who understand systems theory, that our thoughts have a huge influence on our environment.

Less than 1% of water in the world is fresh water. Our population has expanded rapidly to test the limits of the Earth today. We are facing a water crisis, and depending on where you live you may be feeling this less or more.

We do know today, that were it not for human destruction of the environment, there could have been enough clean water for everyone. Instead, more than a billion people today don’t have access to fresh water. People are bracing for a future oil crisis, but do not understand the impact of the water crisis upon this planet and its inhabitants.

For me personally, how we have treated our environment, is nothing less than an example of human madness to dump toxic waste into the same water that we drink. But through our collective consciousness today, we have the choice to change things around. We can begin helping water heal, just with our thoughts and how we treat it.

Everything starts and ends with water. Ultimately we know today, thanks to the various researchers what word cleanses water the most. It is actually not one but two: love and gratitude.

If you do nothing more, than love ALL of the water on this planet and in your life, and offer your gratitude for it, you are changing the world more than you can ever perhaps imagine.

Whatever you take from this, whatever you choose to do or not do, I hope at least it has expanded your view of the nature of our reality a little more.

I leave you with a reflection of a photo and fragment of verse 78 from the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu:

Surfer on Water

Nothing in the world
is as soft and yielding as water.
Yet for dissolving the hard and inflexible,
nothing can surpass it.

The soft overcomes the hard;
the gentle overcomes the rigid.
Everyone knows this is true,
but few can put it into practice.

  1. Lance says:

    Evita,
I read this today and think of the water I drink. Water is my most common drinking source, and something I use to nourish my body. This also reminds me of where we get our water. A couple of miles from our house, off the beaten path (it’s easy to get off the beaten path around here!) is a natural spring. It’s right off the road, and used by many people. Several times (although really not enough) I’ve thought about how pure this water is, as we are filling our containers. As I think about it today, it’s easy with this so accessible, to forget that not everyone has such easy access to drinkable water. So today…I remember that, and will appreciate more deeply this life-giving substance…

  2. I love water and anything that has to do with it: pools, beaches, aquariums, cocktails :) It’s so relaxing and therapeutic. Gonna go take a shower now :)

    Eduard

  3. Like Eduard I’m in love with water and all places water can be found. I’ve been aware of this movie for a few years. My sister to this day uses holy water blessed by the pope. Countless time as kids we dipped our hands in holy water and made the sign of the cross.

Like Lance I’m all about water and combining that with my love of life and the power of love is what I’ll be doing in the future.

  4. Hi Evita,

Beautiful post. I have always been an ocean lover but my love for water became really important after I lived in India for six months. We lived in a little village and clean drinking water was not a guarantee. One morning, I went to use the shower and no water came out. That would never happen here in America. So after living in India, I came to realize what a vital and important resource water is and it is sad that not everyone in the world has constant access to it.

In spiritual terms, water is a great teacher. I often tell people just go with the flow and to quote Bruce Lee “be like water”. Hopefully, with more and more movies like this one, people will realize that we are blessed to have what we need. We just tend to take for granted what is offered so freely by nature and the Universe.

  5. Amazing post Evita!

You made me look at water under a new light. Thanks…I had to tweet the article. I knew about Dr. Emoto’s experiments and the memory of water but the difference in the energy between spring water and other forms of water didn’t cross my mind. It’s something to think about especially the fact that it collects whatever energies it flows through.

Unfortunately I live in a small island with very little natural spring water. You made me remember the time I was on Ben Nevis mountain in Scotland and filled my canteen from a natural spring. It felt like drinking water for the first time. It is still impressed in my mind…and yes it truly had a different energy!!

  6. Evita says:

@ LANCE – That is a beautiful and heart-felt reflection Lance.

What came to my mind as I read your comment also was how lucky you are indeed to have a fresh spring so close to you. For me right now the closest spring is about a half hour drive – not bad – but not ideal either always.

However, I have made a commitment to start utilizing this spring, but even more so, I am considering other alternatives to increase the natural state of my life, such as moving out of the suburban neighborhood we now live in.

So for now what I do, is definitely give, if only a short, conscious moment to every glass of water I drink, but beyond that I want to continue to increase my gratitude for this substance and love it and bless it whenever I can – that of course includes loving and blessing ourselves too.

@ IDEAS WITH A KICK – Hi Eduard – thank you for your comment! Your enthusiasm for water is beautiful! It is so relaxing indeed, and I can tell you as well that there is nothing I like more than having the chance to go for a swim. This is where I and the water I feel are most as one.

@ TESS – Beautifully said Tess!

As I mentioned to Eduard above, not only do I love to swim and feel water on every part of me, but like you I love places with water. It is actually one of my dreams to live near an ocean.

You know Tess, growing up in a religious home, where the religion used water a lot like you know yourself, whether it is baptism or holy water, I really did not know like many people the what’s and why’s of this. Most people do all those things so routinely without ever thinking of what is behind this.

Having gotten to know water so much more intimately over the past few months, today I know that it is not to please God or to “go to heaven” “or cleanse sins” or whatever the case may be of why one “has to” do all those things in religion with water. It goes so much more beyond that, and so today I am happy to develop my own sacred relationship with water, and expand upon my expression of love through it.

@ NADIA – Yes, beautifully said Nadia. I can only imagine how much one begins to look at water differently and appreciate it after an experience of not having it.

But today and through this, I know that our thoughts can make a difference on the water of the world for many people. And it feels great to know we can all help without crossing a border…

@ GILBERT ROSS – Hello Gilbert and thank you for sharing your experience with water in your comment. (And thanks for the Tweet :)

I am so with you. I too knew of Dr. Emoto’s experiments after I watched “What the Bleep do We Know?” a couple of years ago, but with this movie it brought that knowledge to a whole new level!

It is interesting that you say “unfortunately” that you live on a small island, because I would have thought that would be a benefit – but I guess all islands are different. But Gilbert no matter where we are, and what water we drink, WE have the power to transform the water – to structure it – to energize it. And that alone left a huge impact on me as, in terms of how much I can influence my state of being, just by how much I give water some conscious attention of love and gratitude.

  7. The first thing I thought when I read this was, “I need to be blessing the water I drink, the water I use, and the water I clean myself with.” You’re right, Evita, we take it for granted. I do, certainly; yet I do profess to love it. Oddly, just last night I was telling someone he needed to drink more water because of how wonderful it is.

You’ve changed my perceptions on this incredible substance – a substance that truly will become more valuable than gold in the coming years. My gosh, and the comments you received were so lovely.

I’m going to spread the word about this — what a wonderful and well written article. So many thanks!

  8. I’ve always loved water since my first memories. My mother always made us drink water with dinner. She understood the importance of instilling this habit. I refuse to drink oj, milk, or anything else with dinner. Actually the two things I consume the most is probably water and tea. What is tea really? It’s 99% water.

Water is everywhere. Our relationship with it, never really thought about having relationship with water, is so very important. We do need to change our habits. We can’t be as wasteful. It takes articles like this one to help change our appreciation and use of water.

    Great job Evita! Thank you.

  9. Bern ~ Walking in Stillness says:

I just love spring water. It makes me want to go back to the mountains right now to take in its vitality. It feels so pure and who knows how many thousands of years some of it has been perculating and filtering its way through the sediments and soils of the earth. Mountain Spring water is in essence blessed by the beauty of the earth. When we too begin to see beauty in the earth and in our daily actions, then we in essence bless the world around us by dissolving negativity and tension in the lives and world around us. Feelings and thoughts are indeed energetically attached to just about everything these days. Emotional imprints liter our lives and is an un-noticed pollution. We can truly walk a path in life with the intention of dissolving the charges that surround us, thereby cleaning up the messes that we have inherited from our ancestors. We can begin by being blessed by clean water, and from a negative free state we too can begin to create a cleaner world where the natural vitality of life can shine once again by living the life that we want to bring to the world.

  10. Evita says:

@ MEGAN – Megan thank you so very, very much for all that you have said. The feedback was so much appreciated, but I was even more moved by your experience with this information.

Water is indeed a precious substance and one that many of us do not even come close to realizing its full potential. That is why I am so grateful to people like the scientists who have made this info and movie possible, especially Dr. Masaru Emoto.

Thank you so much again for all that you have said, and enjoy your new relationship with water!

@ KARL – Thank you too Karl so much for sharing your experience with water here and for your feedback about this article.

It is fantastic that you drink mostly water, as this is what every single one of your cells depends on for nourishment, and there simply is no substitute for that.

@ BERN – Hi Bernie and thank you so much for your added thoughts on this topic.

I know personally that I miss the taste of pure spring water and today crave it greatly. What really hit home from me from your comment was when you said that today feelings and thoughts are energetically attached to just about everything today – indeed – and isn’t that just so amazing! It is like we are uncovering a lost world – a world that was here all along, but one that we have lived without knowing for so long.

That was all so eloquently and beautifully said as always Bernie – thank you!

  11. Wow, just when I thought I pretty-much “knew it all,” I read an article like this!

I’ve obviously been taking water (and my thoughts) way way too for granted.
HAVE to see the movie, ASAP. I’m THIRSTING for it now.

I do kind of bless water I encounter a lot. Maybe I’m more evolved than I previously assumed? :) No, really! The spirituality of water has been in my subconscious. I will make sure to bless it and thank it openly from now on, make sure I give back to it what it gives to me.

    Thank you!

  12. Evita Ochel says:

@ JANNIE – Hi Jannie, oh you are so welcome and thank you for adding in your thoughts on this article – it was a very dear one to my heart and perhaps you see my passion shining through in it.

It is a beautiful idea to just give the water in our lives a moment of our consciousness, of our best intentions, a beautiful thought perhaps, or simply the words of gratitude thank you. Sometimes, no words or thoughts are needed – just looking, drinking or touching that water with love makes a big difference.

  13. Hey Evita – this is a fascinating read. I’ve heard about the impact of love and other emotions on water, but I’ve never thought about my personal relationship with it. In other words, it was just some intellectual curiosity thing, but this article is truly thought-provoking.

  14. Evita Ochel says:

@ ALBERT – Hi Albert, thank you so much for your feedback and stopping by to read this article. Like you I felt the same way and since this movie and the work of Daniel Vitalis have been greatly changing and enhancing my relationship with water.

  15. Evita
I’ve loved water so much all my life like a best friend.
So many people walk through the day parched and drained from not drinking
enough water. I live near the ocean and being the water sign Cancer cannot imagine being away from the coastal waters here in S.C.
    Deb

    • Evita Ochel says:

@ DEB – Hello Deb and thank you so much for stopping by and adding in your insights in the comment!

Oh what an amazing place to live! As an Aquarius I cannot tell you how much I am called to water too. I love learning more and more about it, and exploring how important its role really is in our lives!

  16. doug says:

I tell my water that I love it before I consume it, and I really feel that intention with all water, I too have a pure spring close to my house that i havent used in a while i think i will go back there for my next water gathering. peace to you all

    • Evita Ochel says:

      Hi Doug

That is so beautiful to hear!

I know we may look at these glasses or bottles of water and think at the end of the day “does it really make any difference?” – but it really does. We are not quick to see the results perhaps, but as we become more in tune with Earth energy and ourselves, we will feel the difference and that is even more powerful!

  17. Marie D says:

I so hope this video is the one I saw on line a few months back… It was incredible and I sent the link to all my close friends and low and behold, it was gone… I was so disappointed! I have been looking for it since… In the meantime I also came across a dowser (Raymon Grace) who is comitted to “cleaning up” the water on the planet… and for those of us who do not have access to a fresh spring, he tells how to clear and energize water… ALL this information on water is so vital for us to share/pass on to those who will ‘listen’… and the simple act of blessing all water that passes our lips and all that we bathe with will make a difference. As Raymon says “If we do nothing, nothing will happen” and “the future is yours, do something about it”

Evita, thank you for bringing this valuable information together in this format… my search for the video brought me here, and I am grateful.

    • Evita Ochel says:

      Hi Marie

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading this piece – it holds a special place in my heart – and so I am so glad you found it!

I can presume that it was gone, as I tried looking for it recently after I wrote this too and it was not found, because they are re-doing the movie, and I think they removed all the old versions from the web. So if all goes well according to their plan, we should have a new version of this movie out soon – I am sure it will be very valuable if not more even so than this one!

  18. Suzicate says:

I just found your blog. This particular post has totally blown my mind. I find it difficult to put this into words. My father was a dowser, not by trade but as a hobby. I am also capable of this, but have chosen not to as I have conflictin emotions on the subject. The actual pull of water, the power it has over me and the comfort is gives me is something I can’t explain. I tried recently to approach this subject on my blog http://suzicate.wordpress.com/2009/11/29/daddy-was-a-dowser/. Thanks for this post.

    • Evita Ochel says:

      Hi Suzicate

I always love hearing about the synchronicity of how different people find the site and why. I don’t believe in coincidence, so maybe this message about water was to re-ignite the gift you have within to re-establish a relationship with water.

It is amazing that you already have such an amazing relationship with water. Most people just see it as this clear, liquid substance and not much else. So that is special enough as it is already.

I am heading over to read what you too have written on this subject. Thank you so much for your comment!
