Arlo R. Hansen on “Being”

This article is written for Evolving Beings by guest author Arlo R. Hansen.

What is “It” that has always “been” and always “will be,” if “It” is not “That” which is asking the question?

Arlo R. Hansen – 1928 – ?

The day after tomorrow – March 2 -  will mark the completion of my eighty-second trip around the sun as a passenger on “Spaceship Earth.”

But, where was “I” on March 1, 1928, twenty-four hours prior to the involuntary beginning, of the trip from the warmth and comfort of its mother’s womb the body I was to occupy, would make to enter the Physical Realm?

Was “I” already inside that small, infant’s body, or did “I” enter it with the first breath it took after the birthing doctor gave its little behind three, or so, solid “smacks” with the palm of his hand, to help it begin what was to be its life-long breathing process?

If I had to make a choice, I would opt for the latter, for it seems to me, that until the cord keeping the infant dependent for its every need upon its mother was severed, and it took its first breath, it was not yet an independent “self.”

I” was in that first inhalation. As “I” filled its lungs, it became another physical vehicle (among billions of “others”) for “My” expression and experiencing.

Although my parents created the body “I” was to occupy and named it, they did not give it “life.” Life is what “I” am, not a possession “i” have as owner of a “thing.”

Life is what “I” was before “I” betook this journey; life is what “I” shall continue to be upon “My” departure from this human house.

“But wait,” you cry! “You haven’t told us where you were prior to your birth on Earth! Is that an oversight, or can’t you say, because you really don’t know?”

I was an aspect of Infinity; but even aspects of Infinity are Infinite. Infinity’s center is everywhere and its circumference is nowhere. It has no specific location. It is boundless.

As such, I am powerless to describe where I was in “It” to you other than to say, “I was ‘It’!

About the Author

Arlo R. Hansen describes himself as being “One of six billion nerve endings in the Fingertips of God.” He was blessed with being born into a family, with two older siblings, a “word-smithing” brother, whose book, The Meaning of Dreams for Sleeping Man illustrates the life work of Arlo’s older (his brother’s younger) sister, Vivian L. Heeschen, who via her ability as a Spiritual Dream Interpreter, showed many of her students the pathway from darkness to light. You can read more of Arlo’s work at ZooFence.com

  1. Happy Birthday tomorrow! Thank you for blessing the earth with your presence. I love that “one of six million nerve endings in the fingertips of God! Brilliant!

      Tess,

“We have to wish for everyone what we want desperately for ourselves.” is, in MNSHO, the most important of your “We have to’s.” Why? Because, if we can mean this, all of the other “WHT’S will automatically fall in line behind this desire for all!

Your observation about my “…blessing the earth with your presence.” is every bit as brilliant a statement as your naming my description of “What I Am!” as such! I never quite thought of my “Being” in that way, but I like it! It is like seeing myself having a halo I knew nothing about.

      Thank you!

      Arlo

  2. Lance says:

    Arlo,
Life here on earth is a pretty special thing. Was there some life before all of this, something of which I don’t know? I’m not sure. Beyond our earthly lives, though, I believe very much that there is this everlasting life. That there is something beyond. And that is life, in some form. And life, I believe, that is filled with much abundance.

    Happy #82 tomorrow!

    • Arlo says:

      Dear Lance,

Yes, life here on Earth is a pretty “special” thing, if you say so, because you “know” so, Lance! “Time,” I once read, “is only a possible sequence of events.” “Time,” is nature’s way of keeping everything from happening at once!” Time, on the Physical Plane, is linear. This makes it easy for us to handle “happpenings” as they occur, in order.

In the Greater Reality, which you may not know, but can sense, past, present, and future are taking place simultaneously; but they are not intermixed. This “Greater Reality,” is not so much an actual “place,” as it is a difference in frequency of vibration. And yes, abundance abounds throughout the Harmonic Scales!

Did you write the song, “I Hope You Dance?” I read the words before I played the music. It is a joyus example of what can “come,” when one listens to what is taking place, in the Silence of Awareness!

I enjoyed your interview with Evita. She is a special wonder in the Wonder!

      Arlo

    • Lance says:

      Arlo,
Ah, no I cannot take credit for that song, “I Hope You Dance”. The words are lovely, though, and remind me that life is to be “lived” (in whatever form “lived” means for each of us).

And that interview with Evita…that was a very special interview. She is truly a wonder in this world we live in…

May your Tuesday (and every day) be filled with much joy and abundance.

Hi Arlo – and a very happy birthday to you! I believe our time on planet is full of opportunity to love and spread that love around – so I’m quite busy doing that and focusing on the present moment.

    • Arlo says:

      Greetings Suzen!

I cannot be sure, but it could have been in the late eighteen, or early nineteen hundreds, that somebody wrote these words:

“You don’t want to know how laws and sausages are made!”

The fact that “food abuse” has been going on for decades, doesn’t make it acceptable! Your work to “…make known what is going on,” is one of love “focusing on the present moment.” You could be instrumental in keeping us from:

I have a lovely purple cow,
She gives me milk and cheese,
And now I’m sitting in my room,
      With hoof and mouth disease!

    Hello Arlo

Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and insight here on Evolving Beings.

In such few words some may say, you managed to stir some very deep thinking and questioning within all of us. That is a gift I believe to awaken people to a new way of thinking or looking at something.

I too share the view that life is me, I am life – it is not something that is given the characteristic of any kind of possession. And I also believe that I was before this physical incarnation and will be after it as well.

    Thank you once again!

    • Arlo says:

Well, Evita, someone said long ago, “Take the cash and let the credit go!” Great advise, I think, along with, “If you want to get rich, watch what the poor people are doing, then don’t do that!

If anyone were to be credited for inviting me to “speak through writing” on the platform of “Evolving Beings,” it must be you! And while your worth is not in your accomplishments, Evita, they do reflect your degree of understanding “That” that “IS!

      Arlo

  5. This took me a few reads to really grasp your concept, but now that I have – thank you. There are so many unknown questions within all of us, we just have to roll with it. Enjoy the unknown and be glad that we can ask such questions.

    • Arlo says:

That’s quite a task you have taken upon yourself, Karl! From what I read from the wealth of material on your web site, it appears you won’t run out of “Work Happpy” ideas in this lifetime.

  6. Arlo says:

Oh, and many thanks to all of you for your wishes for my birthday!

    Arlo

  7. Arlo, I think I’m in-love! (wink) What a wonderfully simple — yet profoundly comprehensive — take on this thing we call “life.”

Wishing you joy, and sending up thanks for the energy you shared here.

  8. Arlo says:

    Dear Megan,

To be known as “JoyGirl,” you must have given permission for your soul to bask in the sun!

As such, may you always reflect the warmpth you have asorbed!

    Thanks for your thanks.

    Arlo

  9. Such a beautiful insight into life. Such an experience needs to be more readily appreciated by more people on this planet. Thank you for sharing!

    • Arlo says:

Ah, Spirituality Minded, all of the so-called “Others” out there, are, to you and me, “God in disguise,” as we are to “them.” Those ready for “…such an experience,” either have, or are, experiencing it, while the remainder are in various stages of preparing to experience it!

Trust that all is as it should be!

      Arlo

  10. Hanlie says:

Just beautiful! Happy belated birthday, Arlo!

    • Arlo says:

      Dear Hanlie,

Thanks for that thought and the birthday wish. Know that you are in the right place (South Africa) at the right time, to manifest the contribution only you can make, to the advancement of the human race!

      Blessings,

      Arlo
