Evita, you may not know but Elizabeth Kubler-Ross had the experience of her home burning down. This was a woman who paved the way for compassionate or pallative care of the dying. She has written a number of books that may interest you.

In terms of material possessions, I can say from my own experience that after having moved a lot, I have redefined the "necessary." I periodically donate or give items away. I find I do not really need things. Some people even believe that until you lose everything or have close to nothing, you do not begin to understand what it means to have everything inside your heart and soul.

Robin - your kind words and feedback mean so much, I am truly moved. Sometimes one never knows the mark one leaves on others, and some never get the chance to find out. In our world many people are very quick to criticize and somewhat slower to give positive feedback and appreciation, while that is what is so powerful, inspiring and motivating - for both the giver and the reciever.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

You, Seth and Liara have said it all. But I still wanted to comment on this post as I am a great believer of this way of life. I loved reading this post. Your writing is wise and full of life.

I also am moved over and over by the comments you leave on other sites. You stand out, very wise and solid. Thank you! And thank you for your precious comment on my DEER KEEPER post. :)

Seth - it is indeed so much easier to look at any situation in a brand new way, in a positive light where we allow yourself to transcend past our fears. It is probably one of the most freeing and empowering things one can do.

And Liara, what can I say, but exactly! If we drop the labels of "bad" and "good" but just as "is", then we move through life in a non-resistive way, which again makes life so much easier to live.

Thank you both for your great input!

Another perspective involves the choice of not perceiving "good" or "bad." To observe or associate with something means it is important to you, even if you do not know why. The journey of deciphering makes life more meaningful.

Great example of "we are not our things" Evita

We spend so much time and brain space worrying about our "stuff."

Seems it's a lot easier taking David's perspective then letting the "loss" of things become the focus of not only the present but the future.

It gets even easier when there is no stuff.

Another wise offering from Evita. You are awesome.

Blessings
